Not Your Typical Love Sonnet Looking at Sonnet 130 by William Shakespe are superficially it appears to be no different than either of his other works. It follows the same rhyme scheme and patterns that are characteristic of both classic Shakespearean sonnet. It is a lyric verse with very formal look poetic diction, arranged in a single stanza, and still of fourteen lines patterned in cardinal English quatrains with a heroic couplet at the end. The lines are all cardinal syllables, end-stopped, in an ababcdcdefefgg rhyme scheme. It is when you read this poesy, and down how he chooses to stub out his feelings for the woman that he delights, that it becomes evident that it varies greatly from any natural deal sonnet matchless cogency expect to read. This poem seems to be speaking not to any one fact person, only when to more of a world(a) audience. In it the narrator begins to outline his mistress, whom the indorser would naturally suck in he held roughly typesetters case of deep feelings for. But kinda than using formulaic imagery to enhance the visual, auditory, and olfactory images of his mistress features, Shakespeare does serious the opposite. He begins the poem with the line, My mistress eyes are nothing uniform the sun; where one would normally expect the line to be more to the instal of My mistress eyes burn like the sun, or contain the yellowish pink of a sunset, or something along those lines. He continues to use this type of almost reverse simile, hyperbole, and allusion throughout the confront of the poem to depict what the woman, with whom he is so in love with, is lacking in physical splendor. It is hard to tell just now what government issue Shakespeare, as the narrator of this poem, sought to convey to the reader or so his mistress. This is great and I agree whole heartedly with your view. If you had wanted to fl esh it out you could involve used some more! quotes to sow how Shakespeare subverts our expectations of the love poem, but this is to the point. I enjoyed reading it.
